Smith is the president and founder of MomsTell, an addiction support group in Cumberland County.

Her statement is in regards to a medical marijuana bill in Pennsylvania. You can see the full story yourself here. Sorry Sharon, they are not telling you everything else and there should be no surprise there are side effects once you see this. We all know what is in marijuana (at least if it were medicinal), right?
Without arguing either side consider what passes for medicine currently. Let me show you something I found interesting on Wikipedia. You can easily trace many drug's chemical roots to discover the real chemicals behind these harmless little pills readily tossed at any minor ailment.
I've quoted and linked to wikipedia in case you want to see the process yourself. Try this with any drug
Aspirin (USAN), also known as acetylsalicylic acid,
is "an acetyl derivative of salicylic acid".
Starts out nicely "Salicin is an anti-inflammatory agent that is produced from willow bark" (a clue to a natural cure?)
Things get a little hairy here ."Salicylic acid is treated with acetic anhydride, an acid derivative". "This process involves the conversion of methyl acetate to methyl iodide and an acetate salt. Carbonylation of the methyl iodide in turn affords acetyl iodide"
- "Acetic anhydride is an irritant and flammable"
- "The vapour of acetic anhydride is harmful"
- Methyl iodide "It is also used as a pesticide"
Acetic anhydride is produced by carbonylation of
methyl acetate:
- "(Methyl acetate)... is normally a flammable liquid"
- "Methyl acetate is used as a solvent"
- "Methyl acetate is produced industrially via the carbonylation of methanol as a byproduct of the production of acetic acid"
We the U.S. "account for almost half of the global pharmaceutical market, with $289 billion in annual sales". With all the garbage they call medicine it is no wonder that "One of every two men and one out of three women will get cancer in their lifetimes". This is just insane.
If they sold marijuana in State Stores, they COULD provide customers with the same kind of info that comes with prescription drugs.
ReplyDeleteHeck with "medical marijuana." Just legalize possession, and cover sales of untaxed marijuana with the bootleg liquor statutes. Smoking marijuana should be illegal, so second-hand smoke doesn't affect other people, but a $300 fine should be sufficient to stop THAT.
More than half the state's prison population is there for marijuana. Eliminate that huge expense, and bring in lots of new revenue at the state stores. If there was ever a good time to decriminalize marijuana, now is the time.
